Portnoo and its sister village of Narin are a small but attractive holiday resorts on the northern shore of the Dawros peninsula, a few miles along the coast form Glenties. Portnoo is as good a place as any to take the sea air, with the Atlantic rolling in towards the sandy beach which stretches to the east past Narin. Although the village faces north into the Atlantic the hills to the west on Dunmore Head offer very welcome protection.
The extensive Blue Flag sandy beach is backed by an extensive and majestic sand dune system with a well defined primary dune ridge. Narin & Portnoo Golf Club is a beautiful yet challenging links test, especially in windy conditions.
