Willow Farmhouse

Willow Farmhouse is located on an elevated site overlooking the fertile valley between the village of Milford and Lough Fern. It is surrounded by mature, native species trees and shrubbery – a legacy of a former dwelling on this site. The house is very private, yet is within walking distance or a short drive to all amenities in the area. The house is very spacious and has free wifi.

Milford is located in the northeast of the county and makes an ideal base for touring and sightseeing. It is within easy driving distance of the fabulous beaches at Downings and Rathmullan and of all the amenities of Donegal’s largest town, Letterkenny.

The golf link courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna are among the finest in the country. Just outside the village is one of Donegal’s finest trout waters, Lough Fern. For the sea angler, boat hire and regular arranged fishing trips are available at Rathmullan and Downings.

A great property with lots and lots of space for children to run around

A great property with lots and lots of space for children to run around, indoors and outdoors, well away from any roads in a secluded and tranquil setting. The property has lots of room for storage, an extra fridge and freezer in the outhouse and best of all, a covered area where we could get the wetsuits dry even if it rained. Milford itself is a lovely little town in a great position to explore the spectacular beaches on Fanad. It’s got a good butcher and various convenience stores and a supermarket. We hope to book again for next summer.

Thanks John, Dolores and family for making our Christmas so special at your beautiful holiday house. It was such a warm welcome with the lovely turf fire glowing.The Christmas tree and decorations made it perfect for the children. The go-cart and play area kept the children occupied outdoors in the fine weather. Feeding the animals was such a treat for them. The kitchen and living room was ideal for those long lazy evenings when our extended family came to visit. The boys enjoyed the snooker table. Hope to spend many more holidays at Willow farmhouse.

Friends told us about your fantastic house

Needed a week-end break, friends told us about your fantastic house. When we arrived on Friday evening the smell of the turf fire brought back childhood memories. We had such a peaceful time, just wandered around the fields and up the hill. The views are out of this world. Laura and Jake loved the new baby calves and our course the donkey and foals. Hate the city life now after seeing how beautiful Donegal countryside is. Promise to be back in the Summer with more family.

Had a fantastic time

Had a fantastic time. The house was very suitable for the three families. All the bathrooms were great. We all had our own space. Very private and the children were safe to wander around the open space. We visited lots of beaches and Glenveagh National Park was a favourite with everyone. The girls loved the shops in Letterkenny while the men went fishing. Thanks for the home made wheaten bread and fresh farm eggs. Definitely be back soon and will tell all our friends about this lovely country cottage in Donegal.

Very private and safe

Thanks for wonderful week-end. Great location for touring Donegal. Highlight of week-end was climbing Errigal. Know now why they call it the Hills of Donegal. Loved the house. Very private and safe. The kids had a great time in the wide open space and gathering blackberries, it took me back to my youth. I will rate it 10/10. See you all very soon.
