The Wee House – Creeslough

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Wee House has recently been renovated with a lot of care and attention to detail. It is situated 3Km from the village of Creeslough nestled in the rugged surroundings of the beautiful Donegal countryside, with the foot of Muckish Mountain on its doorstep. Free WiFi for those who need to work remotely. Lovely and cosy with a wood-burning stove and a fire pit outside if you want to watch the sunset or stars at night.

The Wee House has a very central location on the North Donegal coast. Letterkenny – which is Donegal’s largest town – is only 30km away and offers a wide range of retail outlets, cinema, theatre, restaurants, banks, hospital, etc.

There are few areas of Ireland which enjoy such an unspoilt environment with a wealth of opportunity for open-air activities. In addition to the beautiful beaches at Downings, Dunfanaghy, Marble Hill, Ards Forest Park and the entire region is a fisherman’s paradise with trout and salmon lakes and rivers in the area.

The house was clean, had WiFi and a warm stove for cosy evenings.

The Wee House was fantastic. It had everything we needed for a quiet stay in Donegal. The house was clean, had WiFi and a warm stove for cosy evenings. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The town of Creeslough is just down the road and you can easily get to Dunfanaghy, Glenveagh National Park and Downings.
Will definitely be back!

You can tell that it has been decorated with lots of love and care

We had a fantastic stay at the Wee house. Location couldn’t be more perfect with beaches, forest parks, hiking trails and a national park all within a 15-minute drive. I also went for an amazing walk when I ventured out of the cottage- wherever you look the views are stunning. John was responsive and checked in every day to make sure everything was going well for us, he also gave us lots of helpful recommendations. And the house itself is lovely; small but so charming and it has lots of storage space! It is also very private. You can tell that it has been decorated with lots of love and care. The fire in the evenings was divine (it was also snowing at the time of our visit! An absolute cosy dream). We can’t wait to be back! If you are looking for a peaceful getaway somewhere that feels remote but not isolated and with lots to do in the immediate vicinity, look no further :-)

This is a little gem is fantastic value

This is a little gem is fantastic value. We had a lovely escape to Donegal. Very handy to Marble Hill beach, Ards forest park, Horn head, downings & Dunfanaghy. We headed into glen for dinner which is not far away and had a lovely meal. The house is comfortable and very well presented with a fab wood burning stove which heats the house very well. We cooked in easily and there is a shop in Creeslough if you’ve forgotten anything. There’s an air fryer too which is very handy! Lovely and quiet area but easy to find thanks to John’s instructions. We will definitely be back.

small but perfectly formed

We had a lovely stay, small but perfectly formed. Very tranquil location but close enough to civilisation too. Thank you John and family!

It is just like the photos and just as described

Stayed at the wee house for 2 nights. It is just like the photos and just as described. Perfect place for a little getaway.

One of the most peaceful locations we’ve ever stayed in

One of the most peaceful locations we’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful surrounding countryside and the added bonus of sheep and cows as our only neighbours. Fabulous view of Muckish Mountain. Although very quiet, it’s only a ten minute drive into the village of Creeslough which has a fantastic local shop . It’s even quicker to get into the Glenveagh national park , Glenveagh Castle Gardens are superb and well worth a visit. The Wee Cottage is really conveniently situated as it’s close to the Wild Atlantic Way and had all we needed for our stay , it’s cosy, warm and comfortable.

The interior is very cozy, nicely decorated

It’s a lovely little house, with a nice view and lots of birds singing. The interior is very cozy, nicely decorated. The village of Creeslough is a 5-minute drive. We really enjoyed staying here for 4 days, it allowed us to discover Horn Head, the Rosguill and Fanad peninsulas at ease. It’s a beautiful area that’s worth it!

My stay at The Wee House was just perfect

My stay at The Wee House was just perfect, an absolute gem of a property. Small but perfectly formed in every way … except perhaps the shower which is a little cosy :o) … But nothing could detract from the magic of this beautiful little home from home. The location is perfection itself, quiet, peaceful, beautiful. The property quaint, beautifully maintained, all you could need for a hiking base, quiet retreat or time away.
Host was very responsive to messaging, helpful in terms of directions and advice and the property provided all that it advertised. I will definitely be back.

Michelle

It was so cosy

Lovely little cottage. Was perfect for what we needed. It was so cosy. Decorated with care and attention. Loved the surroundings but still not too far to drive to places of interest. John was easy to communicate with and very attentive. Thanks for a lovely stay!

John was really helpful and friendly too

We had a great winter break at the Wee House. The location is amazing if you want to explore the beautiful hills and coast in the area. It’s also close to Cressloch with a supermarket, a couple of pubs and coffee shops so really convenient. John was really helpful and friendly too.

Before arriving John sent us videos and the information

Based ourselves in Creeslough as our main aim was to climb Mount Errigal, but it has ease of access to alot of places including Dunfanaghy, Doe Castle, Fanad lighthouse, Glenveagh National park etc, the property itself is stunning surrounded by hills , a lovely outdoor space with inside being cosy ! We were lucky enough to get beautiful weather but i could image an evening in the wee house with the burner lit, it would be idyllic. Before arriving John sent us videos and the information thst was needed, and on check out, he contacted us to ask about our stay, very good informative host, we will definitely be booking again, thank you

Belinda

We absolutely loved our stay at the wee house

We absolutely loved our stay at the wee house. John was fantastic communicating with us, sending detailed info about everything- even offering use of his kayaks ! The location is wonderful, peaceful with stunning views of the mountains. Lots of outside space to play. However, small the house was perfectly formed and had everything you could want. It was very comfortable for a family of four. We had the most relaxing stay and would love to come back.
