Customer reviews of The Sea House Dungloe

Wonderful pet-friendly cottage

A delightful cottage with stunning sea views. The reality even surpassed the lovely photos on the website. The accommodation was very clean and we received a warm welcome from the local manager. We enjoyed lots of beach walks with the dogs. We would highly recommend visits to Carrickfinn beach and Cruit Island.

Spotless clean and every comfort you would need to enjoy your stay

Have just spent a week at the beautiful Seahouse and I can’t recommend it enough. From the time of booking, Natasha was so helpful and friendly. On arrival we found the house to be as good as the photos which doesn’t always happen !! Spotless clean and every comfort you would need to enjoy your stay, beautifully decorated too. Location wise it was just stunning, you can spend hours looking out at the sea but a great base to explore this part of Donegal. Very attentive host. Look forward to returning.

Wonderful quiet retreat

The Sea House is a wonderful quiet retreat from the bustle of everyday life. This is our third year to stay. It is so peaceful and the sunsets over the island are amazing. It is compact, clean, well-stocked and the owner and local manager are receptive and respond readily if anything is required. The beach at Mahery, five minutes drive away is just fabulous. I recommend this accommodation and will be back. Wonderful.

The Sea House Dungloe - dining area

Brilliant Holiday Cottage

This was the second time we stayed at the Sea House and we look forward to going back. The Sea House is a tastefully restored Irish vernacular Longhouse and is fully appointed with all mod cons. Comfortably sleeps six and the turf burning open fire is cosy. We were able to watch the sun setting behind Aranmore from the raised deck and listen to the curlews. Its bliss to eat breakfast looking at the ever-changing sea and sky through the picture window. The local boreens are great for exploring and the beach at Maghery is a short drive away. Dungloe is 5 minutes drive with all amenities. There is kayaking available at Maghery and lots of walks. We are hill walkers and its only half an hour to Dunlewy and the Glenveagh National Park. Natasha and team are always welcoming, the house is kept spic and span, and they are only a text away if any help or advice are needed. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Relax at The Sea House Dungloe

The house is fitted out like a Laura Ashley photoshoot

Hi Natasha, We’d a brilliant holiday staying in the Sea House. We’re a family of 2 adults, 2 boys and a crazy dog. We were welcomed with homemade bread, everything for tea, coffee and a box of dog treats – all really appreciated after the drive from Dublin.

The house is fitted out like a Laura Ashley photoshoot – homely, comforting with everything you could need. I looked for a radio and a brand new one was delivered! With cosy blankies and tea lights, it’s heaven to snuggle inside, if the weather isn’t cooperating. Both bedrooms have lovely views to wake up to and the comfiest beds.

The location is great with the sea seconds away, a stunning view of Arranmore Island and Dungloe close by. We were lucky to have breathtaking sunsets most nights.

During the day we did kayaking with Selkie Sailing, a fishing trip with Sliabh Liag boats (we caught the next day’s dinner and loads more) and horse riding at the sea in Carrickart. I’d highly recommend all of these – such brilliant memories.

The local beaches are beautiful and we spent the week in awe of the county’s scenery. The gorgeous Maghery beach is only a short spin away.

We fell in love with Donegal and especially the Sea House. Look forward to returning.

Many thanks,
Pauline

We had a fantastic stay in your beautiful home

Hi Natasha
We had a fantastic stay in your beautiful home – The Sea House. Everything was just perfect and Sharon couldn’t have been more helpful! We hope to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family!

The Sea House - gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way

Just returned from our third stay in The Seahouse

Just returned from our third stay in The Seahouse and it was just as beautiful as we remembered. Every time we go back we are just in awe of the setting, the decor and attention to detail. The house is equipped with everything you could need, the bathroom has a great shower and a hot rail so lovely warm towels! The main bedroom is bright and airy with a very comfy bed and my brother assures me the twin room is also comfortable and cosy.

This visit we were there at the time of Storm Ciara and the start of Storm Dennis but the house is very well built and so sturdy and seems to be able to withstand anything.
We have always gone to Dungloe for a week in winter as love a good storm and getting the lovely open fire lit and listening to the wind and rain against the windows so this time didn’t disappoint!

Thanks again Natasha for letting us stay in your wonderful house and maybe we’ll even visit in the late summer for a change sometimes.    Pure bliss.

Lovely place to just stay in place and enjoy the house and the environment

Natasha, we had a wonderful time at the Sea House and appreciated Shona’s help. Everything worked out well and we put on quite a few kilometers driving in the area. The weather cooperated well during the entire visit so that helped us quite a lot.

Lovely place to just stay in place and enjoy the house and the environment. Dungloe had pretty much everything we needed.

Look forward spending time again in the Sea House.

Our stay in Dungloe and the cottage on the Ocean was fabulous

Our stay in Dungloe and the cottage on the Ocean was fabulous. Beautiful area and wonderful people. Sharon was very helpful and responsive. We ran out of oil and lost heat and got water and it was addressed within a couple of hours when we called. Deb and I would come back anytime. I highly recommend staying here.

The sea house in Toberkeen was love at first sight

The Sea House in Toberkeen was love at first sight: its magical views over the bay with forever changing landscape colours and its cosy comfortable tasteful and beautifully arranged interior ticked absolutely all our boxes. The fresh scones on arrival, the warm welcome and the turf fire for the colder evenings were added treats that made our stay even more authentic. There is nothing we would change and nothing we missed (not even the sunshine!) during our stay with our family of 4 at the sea house. In fact, we loved it so much we returned two year running and can’t wait to come again. We could recommend it to anyone in search of beauty, tranquility, authenticity, taste and confort.
