Mountcharles is ideally located on the south coast of County Donegal overlooking the broad expanse of Donegal Bay. To the east is Killybegs, Ireland’s busiest and most cosmopolitan fishing port: to the west is the folk village of Glencolmcille with it’s charming thatched cottages.
This is the ideal base for exploring Donegal with its miles and miles of mountains with inland lakes, the rugged coastline with its many bays and great expanses of sandy beaches, Donegal caters for all – there are championship golf courses, horse-riding, island trips, boating, surfing, fishing, mountain trekking. Nearby there are numerous hotels with sports facilities for non-residential guests, and wonderful restaurants and pubs full of day and night entertainment not to mention Guinness as you have never tasted it before.
