Rooskey House is a lovely 3 bedroom holiday home set in peaceful countryside just outside the small village of Lettermacaward in West Donegal. The holiday home is just 1.5km from the bridge that separates the Gweebarra river from its namesake estuary. The wonderful Dooey Strand is 3km from the front door. This green coast award beach has become a popular surfing destination in recent years years.

The holiday home has 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 people comfortably. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite and there is also a ground floor bathroom. The tastefully furnished and decorated living room has glass patio doors out to the garden. The kitchen and utility room are fully equipped for a self catering holiday. The kitchen has a small dining area but also opens out to a large dining room with glass doors leading out to a furnished patio area.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone

A comfortable, modern house and although the furnishings and décor feel quite chintzy and old-fashioned there was pretty much everything you need. Quite a few cobwebs around the edges but mainly very clean. Would have liked more in the way of local information – even directions to the beach would have been helpful. It felt a bit like staying in someone’s house, rather than a holiday home. But I would definitely recommend it to anyone – it was in a beautiful position, was calm and, as I say, extremely comfortable.
