Moss Cottage is a beautifully restored farm cottage with a lovely setting in Glenalla – a peaceful valley centrally located between the main villages at the southern end of the Fanad Peninsula – Rathmullan, Ramelton, Milford and Kerrykeel.
This unique holiday property combines the ease of modern living with the charm of a bygone era. It provides a tranquil base from which to explore the beauty of north Donegal – from the majesty of Glenveagh National Park to the superb sandy beaches and rocky headlands along the Wild Atlantic Way.
The cottage nestles at the foot of Cnockaffrin Hill and is well sheltered by mature trees and hedges. The present day cottage combines the traditional one storey farm building and an adjacent two storey barn. The original thick walls are evident in the wide window sills inside. Exposed ceiling beams and a half door add to the traditional feel. The pristine water supply comes from a spring well in the hills above the cottage.
Thanks for the warm welcome and this excellent cottage. It is ideal, in a lovely setting and so quiet!. We stayed for two weeks and would gladly stay for two more.

The cottage is perfect – such attention to detail
We have had a wonderful week. The cottage is perfect – such attention to detail we have not come across in any other holiday home and we have had experience of many. It is the best appointed cottage we have been in – so welcoming and we feel we could live here!!. Unfortunately jobs, husbands call!. The bedrooms are perfect and Lynda says her bed is so enticing she has difficulty arising from it in the mornings. We would love to come back. We love the Ramelton area very much (2nd year coming).
It was quick and easy to register our apartment with Donegal Cottage Holidays. The format is clear and well presented and will be easy for someone wanting to book holiday accommodation to access the information they need.
