We’ve toured rather extensively through Ireland over the years and I can honestly say we’ve never stayed in a home more lovely than this.
Clear skies and sunshine every day. One evening we saw dolphins diving in the ocean below us while we were out for a walk. We hope one day to return…
This place is amazing. Driving into Falmore we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was…We have never stayed in such a well equipped, cozy house and have well fallen in love with the place…
Today we watched as a double rainbow ‘disappeared’ into the sea, a fitting finale to a marvellous holiday. Good weather and a friendly interest from everyone we met made the holiday perfect. As we sat enjoying our peat fire during the evening we really felt we were ‘at home’.
At first I thought the drive from Maghery was simply stunning. However, it was not until I opened the door to the cottage that I fully appreciated the term ‘jaw-dropping’. Quite simply a perfect home in a superb location…A week of total rest and relaxation. Thank you for allowing us to share, albeit briefly, in your own little piece of paradise. It has been a complete pleasure and a privilege.
Four sisters and two babies came to bring our mother home to rest with her parents at St. Mary’s, Kincasslagh. Your exquisite cottage made our stay here truly unforgettable; the people were warm and the peat fire brought memories of our mother and her people.
Sitting at your table outside, with a Guinness, looking over the ocean and the hills on the other side in the sun (yes, we had sunshine as well!)…I feel like I am in heaven or at the end of the world…When we at the end of each day turned back to Falmore Cottage, we entered every time again our piece of paradise.
I cannot imagine not visiting again. Ireland is without doubt the most beautiful country on earth. Thank you for sharing your home…a deeply rewarding and enriching experience. I will never forget it or Falmore. Many thanks to John and Bella also. Loved the craic (good time) in Bunbeg. Thanks for the tip!
When I first came through the door of Falmore Cottage I said, “You do whatever you like, but I’ll stay here!” Loved it: the landscape, the sea, the air, the sheep, the music and the people. I’ve been coming to Ireland for over 30 years and it’s so reassuring to see that some things never change. The kindness of the Irish will never vanish, of that I am sure. Thank you for letting us stay in (your) wonderful cottage. We’ll be back!
This was our second time staying in Falmore Cottage…It’s even more relaxing and wonderful if you’ve been here before and (eagerly) long for a return, knowing what awaits you here. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. PS- We had a lot of fun feeding and patting Crackers (the neighborhood donkey)!
Visited the Giants’ Causeway, walked around the rocks to Maghery, climbed Mt Errigal, visited Carrickfin beach and Mullajerrick beach, had a thoroughly entertaining day out in Derry and walked to the Arranmore lighthouse. Above all though, we ate and drank…soaking in the atmosphere of this incredible house. What wonderful views and tremendously comfortable. We know we will be back! –
We’re sitting in the windowseat. The bay is quiet after a windy and sunny week. What a wonderful time we had in your beautiful cottage. We’re struck by the beauty of the northwest, especially Tory Island, Glenveagh, Errigal, Cruit Island and the beaches! We will be leaving tomorrow with pain in our hearts, and will return…
