Meet the artists in their workshops and treat yourself to the many items on offer for yourself or as a memorable gift. Donegal Craft Village is a showcase for contemporary arts and crafts in Ireland. Stop off and indulge in the award winning restaurant renowned for its freshly ground coffee, delicious home made cakes and gourmet lunches. The beautifully landscaped grounds include a picnic area, a charming courtyard, and spacious, free, car & coach parking.
Established in 1985, the Village has become a showcase for contemporary arts and crafts in the country. There are six workshops clustered around a central courtyard. These are occupied by talented artists who are highly skilled craftspeople in their chosen medium.
Visitors can meet leading artisans working with glass, pottery, textiles, wood, paint and precious metals and have an ideal opportunity to purchase unique Irish craft and design, one-off pieces. Special bespoke items can also be commissioned for presentations, corporate gifts or as larger architectural pieces.
Visitors can avail of the unique chance to watch Clare O Presco create tweed material on the large loom, Elaine and Lyndsey Mc Gonigle in the glass studio working with hot glass to form glass beads and pictures, Sandrine firing pottery, Johnny Mc Cabe painting, Niall Bruton working with precious metal and Michael Griffin creating wooden sculptures from pieces of driftwood. All work made in the village can also be purchased.
